Now that my daughter is so very close to beginning her freshman year of high school, we have been looking at what we need to do as homeschoolers in regards to...the SAT. Yep, you heard that right. So my new favorite website is the collegeboard and we have already registered her account (free to do) and begun working on practice test questions.
And why on earth are we looking at the SAT this early? I believe it is never too early to start practicing. Many colleges offer scholarships based on test scores, and one way to raise test scores is to practice. The PSAT (Pre SAT) is actually taken first, and there are scholarships also awarded based on the results of that test. The National Merit Scholarship Program offers FULL tuition/books for recipients of their distinguished awards. One of their requirements is a very high PSAT score.
So check out the site and sign up to receive their SAT practice question of the day delivered to your email!
